I reached out to Mamas for Mamas see if we could design a charity wrap together, with $5 from each wrap donated to their cause. I asked if they had a particular mama they wanted to name the wrap after, and that’s when this project became larger and more touching than I ever could have imagined.

This is the story they wrote back with, asking for us to name the wrap - The Samara. 

As a veteran in the baby industry (going on seven years now), I’ve come across some absolute favourite things for that delicate time of your life. My hope is that, just like The Beluga Wrap (the world’s comfiest wrap for the newborn days and beyond), they work to make your life more peaceful, calm, and enjoyable.

Today is an auspicious occasion (can you picture me behind a mahogany podium?). It’s been four years that I’ve been working on a “next step” carrier for when babies get too big for the Beluga Wrap.

With each passing season I am reminded of the ebb and flow of life, but never more so than these last couple of years. This fall collection was all about comfort, about those colours that seem like home, and safety, and warmth. 

It’s been six years now since I made my first Beluga Wrap, since I wrapped my baby girl in the bamboo fabric and felt her relax with contentment against me. Six years since I would walk with my gassy baby and the little bounce from the wrap would calm her tummy and soothe her to sleep. 

This year’s been a doozy, and our Spring 2021 Collection is designed as a balm to the hurt hearts around the world.
