Every month, I compile a list of things that captured my attention. Five things that made my life a little happier: five things that inspired me.
As mothers (and fathers), we sometimes lose track of what makes us tick, what makes our heartsleap. The intention of this little list is to remind you thatwhat you love is important. What moves you is important. Chase it, find it, hold it close. You can rediscover yourself in small ways, and in that, become a better parent. One that is happier, more content, more available to their children.
This is the list of whatI love this month. What did you find? Leave a comment and let me know what movedyou this month!
#1 Lynx & Wild
One of my besties started this business, and it’s so cool! A single mom-of-two, Jessica wanted to build something that would support her family, provide an outlet for creativity, and encourage other families to get out in the “wild”. Raised in the Pacific Northwest, nestled among the mountains of North Vancouver, she draws inspiration from the wildlife that surrounds her. Shop her tees and know you’re supporting a real life family.
#2 Both Sides Now covered by The Tallest Man on Earth
My favourite song of all time, covered by one of my favourite artists. If you want to see one of our generation’s great talents, do yourself a favour and listen all the way through. Then let yourself go down the rabbit hole that is his discography.
#3 The Haakaa
This. Is. Amazing. It’s a breast pump, but it suctions on to the breast you’re not using while you nurse on the other side. It captures your letdown, and anecdotally, it encourages let down on that side as well. That means that you can gently, silently, pump while you nurse.
#4 Babes Supporting Babes Hoodie from Brunette The Label
I bought this. I now live in it. When I die, you’ll find me wrapped up in this oversized, super soft hoodie. Please bury me in it. I would pass it along to loved ones but...I love it too much.
#5 Instagram Poetry
Sometimes words pop up in my Instagram “discover” feed, and I feel like they justget me. I’m not a huge poetry reader, but these little nuggets tug at my heartstrings and make me smile.
