Anyone who knows me knows I live for the summer. As an avid hikers and adventurer, the summer sun here in the Pacific Northwest means longer days, warmer temperatures, and the opportunities to literally go jump in a lake. Which of course I’ve done several times this summer.
In fact, if it was up to me, the perfect day would be a hike followed by ciders and a good book at the lake.
Me, at Cabin Lake, BC.
But as much as it pains me.
Tears me up inside.
I have to acknowledge the truth.
Autumn is coming.
And to all of you who cry “pumpkin spice latte” the moment September 1st rolls around, might I remind you (life ruiners) that the first official day of fall is September 22nd. Welcome (almost) to fall.
Now that I’ve finally stopped weeping with despair at the thought of another dark and gloomy winter (and already started planning how to slowly migrate south like the birds), I actually do have some good news for you.

Colic is characterized by crying that lasts more than three hours a day for more than three days a week. In practice, it’s often a lot more crying than that. Add that to the sleepless nights and days, the intense postpartum hormones, and the enormous pressure surrounding new mothers, and you have a recipe for trouble.
